Dolphins – Year 4

Welcome to Dolphins’ Class Page!

Here you will find the work Mr Lewis has set for your children! This page will be updated with new work weekly and answers will be provided the following week.

All tasks set are linked to the National Curriculum requirements for Year 4 and will ensure your child’s progression throughout this time and beyond. As well as the work here, children have also been sent home with Home Learning packs to complete. We have also sent children home with paper and other stationery to help with their work.

Summer Term 1 (Week 5)

Hello Dolphins class!

I hope you’re all doing well and still working hard at home with everything you’re doing.

It has been lovely to see some of the things that you have been doing so please keep sharing this with us – You can use our schoolwork email or Twitter to share anything you’ve done whilst at home.

It has been nice that some of the restrictions have been lifted this week that enable us to go out a bit more and to see some of our family and friends again at a distance.  You may have spotted lots of things that have changed during the spring such as the leaves on trees and flowers in gardens.  You may even have been lucky enough to see some of the newborn animals in farmers’ fields or down at the local nature reserves – Why don’t you write about what you’re seeing and take some photographs to go with it and start a journal or a blog that can be shared upon your return to school… I am sure everyone would love to see and hear about your experiences too!

Have a good week everyone!

Stay safe,

-Mr Lewis.

This week we’re taking a step back and recapping on Recognising Tenths and Hundredths.

This is a super-important concept to learn for going into Year 5 and it will be one we will recap on first upon our return to school.  All of this topic previously on White Rose has been moved to the BBC Bitesize website and is in line with White Rose’s Home Learning for this week:  https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zb98wty

ALSO:

Well done to everyone who has completed their assigned tasks from Week 6’s Mathletics!

Please continue working on topics that you enjoy and I will update your assignments on Mathletics too.

DON’T FORGET:

On a Thursday between 1:30 & 2:30pm, you can come into the school office for a pack containing work put together by teachers for your year group.

Just be sure to let staff know that you will be coming to collect work by the Wednesday of each week so that the correct numbers can be copied for you.

Please ensure you adhere to our social distancing measures that have been setup on school grounds for everyone’s safety.

Summer Term 1 (Week 4)

Hello everybody!

I hope that you enjoyed the work we set last week and you have learnt lots about V.E. Day.  We had lots of fun at home celebrating our ‘Stay At Home Street Party’ – Did anybody else do anything similar?

I would love to see some photos or hear any stories about your experience of this special day.

The weather is beginning to get much warmer now and this is a perfect time to start planting seeds and watching them grow.  This is something we would have been doing in class this week with tomato plants so we could see how we get fruit and vegetables from scratch.

I do hope to see you all again very soon!

Stay safe everyone,

-Mr Lewis.

Summer Term 1 (Week 3)

Hi everyone!

I hope that you are all keeping well and that you have been enjoying the resources on our class page and on the school page.

I have been keeping a close eye on Twitter and our school email for any of you who have submitted images of the things you have been doing at home.  What I have seen so far looks brilliant!

(PS: I have passed on the rock-painting idea to my friends, family and neighbours to do with their children at home!).

This week is a special week as it is the 75th anniversary of V.E. Day.  It is so incredibly special to us as a country that we have a bank holiday on Friday to commemorate it.  In your English work, this week, there is some information and work around V.E. Day about why it is so important to us all these years on!

I would also like to invite you to a nationwide ‘Stay At Home Street Party’ in commemoration of V.E. day:

This is something I will be doing at home and I wanted to share it for you to do too.  Please remember to follow social distancing rules whilst enjoying this special day.

I hope you have a good week and I hope to see lots of photos of you enjoying the 75th Anniversary of V.E. Day.

-Mr Lewis
